About production
Six tandem continuous casting lines allow ILNOR SpA to produce approx. 25,000 t of brass and bronze pre-rolled band per year. The raw materials copper, zinc and tin are sourced in bar or plate form from the refineries. We also process our internal production waste and punching waste supplied by our customers.
The copper, brass or bronze pre-rolled band is first reduced to intermediate thicknesses in our different roller mills. They are repeatedly heated to keep the material pliable while it is rolled to its final thickness. The desired grain structure, hardness, durability and elasticity of the material are controlled during the various annealing steps.
Your product is part of our range
The ILNOR product range includes the following: Brass bands Bronze bands and Copper bands with band thicknesses ranging from 0.15 to 3.00 mm at band widths of 4.0 - 320.0 mm for coils. The maximum coil weight is approximately 4,000 kg for a band width of 320 mm (coil weight approximately 13 kg/mm band width).
The specific material properties may be taken from the product lists (for example: CuZN33) or simply contact ILNOR SpA to choose a product.
Multi-rings are rings with a maximum ring weight. They are stacked on a pallet with intermediate cardboard layers and the band end of the first ring is continuously welded to the beginning of the band of the next ring. The maximum band width of multiple rings depends of the properties of the band and its thickness.
Welding the beginning and the end of individual rings together allows for longer strip lengths and therefore for longer production runs on the punching presses of our customers. It is possible to have coiled bands with a maximum of 1,000 kg per coil. ILNOR SpA supplies coiled bands with widths from 4 to 50 mm and band thicknesses of 0.15 to 2.00 mm.
