Information about brass

Brass band consists of a copper/zinc alloy: CuZn.
ILNOR can provide you with brass band alloys according to the DIN/EN standards.
The base of the alloy is copper with a tin component e.g. CuZn37 = 63% copper, 37% zinc (as well as small traces of other chemical elements).

The higher the copper component, the higher the price of the alloy on the metal markets.

Brass strips products

CuZn (Brass) is used when good electrical conductivity, mechanical strength and good corrosion resistance are required at the same time.. When brass is not subjected to further mechanical strain, it retains the shape it was given during processing.

The alloy to be used is normally specified by the engineer during the development of a punched part, as he knows the mechanical and electrical requirements for the final product and will take into account the market prices for the raw material.

Application examples

Application examples

CuZn5 - 20: Materials for connectors, electrical contacts, jewelry

CuZn30/33: Electrical contacts, connectros, plugs, small parts

CuZn37: Materials for molding and trenching, plugs, connectors, materials for sanitary, communication industry, high precision mechanining
