50 years of ILNOR SpA
In recent years, ILNOR SpA has increased focus upon becoming one of the leading suppliers of non-ferrous metal bands in the European market. Annual production now amounts to 25,000 t.
Now, in 2011, we do not just want to look forward to our plans, products and markets for the future, but also back over 50 years of corporate history.
1961

Establishment of ILNOR, Industria Laminazione Nastri Ottone Rame (rolling industry for brass and copper bands) by the Fasano family, together with partners from the steel band rolling industry.
1961 – 1996

ILNOR, which had been equipped with its own foundry from the very beginning, soon became a specialist in copper, brass and bronze bands.
1997 – 1999
1997 - 1999
Start of export activities, with extension of the European sales network, focusing on Germany. Total capacity in 1999: 11,500 to.
2000 – 2003

Start of an extensive investment programme (approx. 26 million €) to modernise and increase performance in all production divisions, such as the following:
- The fully-automated high-bay warehouse for handling the raw materials.
- The extension of the foundry from three to five parallel casting lines plus provision for a sixth line.
- The surface/edge milling line.
- The stretch-bending/alignment line.
- The warehouse has approximately 2,000 pallet points, corresponding to approximately 2,000 tonnes of finished products.
- Electro-plated bands are added to the delivery range. These are refined in cooperation with qualified subcontractors.
Important milestones in the company's history were the founding of Spaltcenter IKS and certification according to TS16949 and ISO 14001 as well as two large-scale projects that ILNOR handled in cooperation with its long-term partner, Ebner Ofenbau:
- The fully automatic Ebner annealing furnace (with an annealing capacity of 60,000 kg).
- The world's first continuous annealing furnace operated with HICON/H2 technology (i.e. in an inert gas atmosphere).
2003 – 2005

Expansion of capacity to 20,000 t/a, with approximately 45% being exported, 70% of it to Germany.
Expansion of export activities to include France.
2005 Introduction of SAP and setting up of a Multi-Ring station.

ILNOR now has 140 employees (as at 2010). The company premises of 50 000m2 contain 24 000 m2 of office, logistics and production facilities that supply large corporations, family-owned enterprises and small companies all over Europe. ILNOR's direct and indirect customers now include all the well-known manufacturers and suppliers in the automotive, electrical, electronics, clothing and non-ferrous metal-processing industry.
The importance of electro-plated bands within this customer base is continuously increasing.
